Backup and restore your codes
Offline backup and restore are free on every platform. You don't need to buy anything to keep your codes safe or move them to a new phone. This page covers the free backup file, the free per-account QR migration, and Cloud Sync, which is the paid part.
What's free
- An offline backup file, saved to your device or a location you choose
- Restoring from that backup file, any time
- Moving accounts one at a time by QR: show an account's QR code on your old phone, then scan it on the new one. Manual, but free.

What's paid

If you don't have a backup or your old phone
We can't restore your codes without a backup file, Cloud Sync, or your old device. Nobody at this company can. If you're in that situation, this walkthrough covers what to do next, service by service.
Fixed: the Android backup permission error
Older versions of the Android app could fail to create or read a local backup file, showing a permission error. That was fixed in a later release. If you still see it, updating the app resolves it.
