Move from Ente Auth to TOTP Authenticator
Takes about 5–30 minutes, depending on your export and how many accounts you have · You won't lose access to anything
Ente Auth doesn't have a dedicated import path in TOTP Authenticator yet, so switching usually means setting two-factor authentication up again on each account: turn it off in the account's security settings, turn it back on, and scan the new QR code here. It's the same route we give for any app without a direct import.
Possible shortcut: if Ente Auth's Settings → Export produces a plain-text file of otpauth:// codes rather than an Ente-only format, you can skip the re-enrollment below and follow the import-list guide instead. Open the file in a text editor to check which one you have.
Steps (repeat for each account, unless the shortcut above applies)

List what you need to move
Open Ente Auth and note every account you added there. That list is your checklist for re-enrolling. If the shortcut above turns out to apply, you can skip these steps.

Turn 2FA off, then back on, for each account
In the account itself, open its security settings, remove the existing authenticator method, then set one up again to get a fresh QR code.

Scan the new QR in TOTP Authenticator
Add → Scan QR, then confirm the six-digit code matches before removing the account from Ente Auth.
If something went wrong
"Does Ente Auth’s export save me from re-enrolling everything?"
It might. Open the exported file in a plain text editor. If you can read lines starting with otpauth://, the file isn’t encrypted and you can import it directly instead of re-enrolling. If it looks like scrambled characters, use the re-enrollment steps on this page. Import a plain otpauth:// list
"The site only offers a specific app by name, no QR code"
Choose “authenticator app” generically where offered, or look for “can’t scan?” to get the plain secret key for manual entry.
"Codes are rejected after import or re-enrolling"

What's different here
Ente Auth is open source and, like TOTP Authenticator, keeps codes encrypted with keys you control. Its own multi-device sync comes as part of a wider Ente account. TOTP Authenticator doesn't require any account to use, and codes generate offline, on your device. Backup, restore and moving accounts by QR are free.
